My 5 Favourite Podcasts- Health, Inspiration and Investigations

I started listening to podcasts this summer, so it’s only really been a few months since I hopped on the bandwagon but trust me, these podcasts are a must listen. I initially downloaded a few podcasts by Amanda Bucci (who you will hear about later) just because I have followed her on YouTube for a long time and enjoyed her presence there, so thought, why not! Gaining more knowledge on the health industry can’t hurt and It will give me something to listen to when I walk to and from university. Five months later and here I am, listening to podcasts whilst I’m making breakfast, brushing my teeth, walking to town, driving. You name it, you will find me listening to one. It’s such a great way to learn and to get my thoughts going in the direction I want them to be.

So, here we go, here is a list of my current favourites that I wanted to share with you.


Bucci Radio

This podcast is hosted by the one and only Amanda Bucci, a fitness and lifestyle entrepreneur who helps people find their unique voices on social media, and enhance their lives through fitness. The podcast description states that its aimed at people “who want to consume incredibly valuable insight and information.” Trust me guys, this one delivers!

Along side her podcasts on specific subjects such as self care tips, dealing with criticism and confidence, she interviews various successful influencers from around the world, delivering their stories in a real and authentic way. The Model Health Show

This podcast, hosted by author and nutritionist Shawn Stevenson breaks down complex health issues and makes them easy to understand. I initially downloaded this podcast because it was featured as the #1 Health AND the #1 Fitness & Nutrition podcast on iTunes. I can confirm guys, that yes, it deserves this reputation. Stevenson puts out factual content which will completely reprogram the way you think about nutrition. He critiques the Science he reads and only presents findings that are reputable, which I absolutely love.



Earn Your Happy Podcast

Earn Your Happy Podcast, hosted by the one and only Lori Harder is a self-help podcast. Lori Harder is a leading expert in the field of fitness, transformational work, mindfulness and self-love. She has long and short podcasts, so if you are in need of some quick motivation to start your day, this will be your go to! The longer guest interviews are inspiring and cover a wide variety of topics but so far I have only listened to a couple. I personally loveeee the short podcasts, as you can always find ten minutes in your day to fit one in to get you feeling motivated and ready!



TED Talks Daily

This one is self-explanatory really. I have always followed TED talks on YouTube but now I can listen to them instead of watching on a screen. Honestly, if you haven’t watched a TED talk before, where have you been? What have you been doing? There are so many talks to listen to, covering everything from astrophysics to entrepreneurship, psychology to health, physiology to yeah, you get it. Everything.




I was rather sceptical when my friend recommended this to me. I only ever listened to podcasts relating to science or health but I was hooked after one episode and I didn’t listen to anything else until I had finished it! I just finished season one of Serial today and I honestly got so wrapped up in the case, I was obsessed. No, I am still obsessed. I need you all to listen to this so that I can talk to you all about it.

Serial is an investigative journalism podcast hosted by Sarah Koenig, narrating a non-fiction story over multiple episodes. In season one, Koenig has been researching a murder case, where a young woman named Hae Min Lee went missing and a few weeks later her body was found dead in the woods. Her ex-boyfriend, Adnan Syed, was charged with her murder and sent to prison in 2000. He was given a life sentence plus thirty years. Anyway, I will let you find out the rest yourself. Koenig describes all of the evidence, plots out what people believe to have happened on that day, listens to old interviews and she presents all of her findings to Syed, who she is interviewing over the phone in prison. So we get to hear from Syed and other related personnel first hand. So give it a listen and get back to me with your thoughts and opinions. PLEASE.

I’m always looking for more podcasts to listen to, so please let me know of any podcasts you guys are loving lately. I am also ill, bound to my bed, with nothing to do and I just finished Serial season 1 (CRY).
